If a woman requires in addition to her surgery follow on chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy, this can be provided at many of the linked rural clinics .
Many of the rural clinics linked to the specialist centres provide access
to follow-up care closer to home. Follow-up chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy
may not be available at all the rural clinics, and may in some cases involve travelling.
Referrals can occur within the network or across networks to allow a woman
the opportunity to have her surgery at a major specialist centre of her choice,
but, follow-up radiotherapy or chemotherapy at a centre more convenient to her.
